The player behind the logo
Max “Splash” Sternberg sank his first recorded cap in 2011, and forever changed the way the game was played. What followed was a career that would become the gold standard for generations of cappers.
Over his career, Splash has accumulated an unmatched résumé:
Widely regarded as the greatest cap shooter of all time.
Beyond the statistics, Sternberg’s smooth shooting motion — raising the cap to his forehead before every attempt — became instantly recognizable. Young players copied it. Opponents studied it. Eventually, it became synonymous with the sport itself.
When the American Cap Association (ACA) sought a symbol that represented precision, confidence, and the spirit of competition, the choice was unanimous. His silhouette became the league’s official logo.
Today, every ACA match is played under the shadow of the player who helped define the modern game. While Splash continues to compete, his legacy has already secured his place as the face of competitive caps.
